Exporting from Shopify
Export your Shopify product catalog as a CSV that maps into Tropix automatically.
If your inventory lives in Shopify, you don't need to reformat anything — export your product catalog and the columns below auto-map on upload.
1. Export your products
In Shopify admin: Products → select the products you want (or all) → Export → "CSV for Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets" (or plain CSV). Shopify emails you a download link.
2. What maps automatically
| Shopify column | Tropix field |
|---|---|
Variant SKU | SKU |
Title | Description |
Variant Inventory Qty | Quantity on hand |
Variant Price | Current price (optional) |
Vendor | Supplier (optional) |
Upload the file as-is on /app/upload — these five map without any manual adjustment.
3. What you still need to add
- Unit cost — Shopify's standard product export doesn't include cost. If your store tracks "Cost per item" per variant, add that column to your export manually; otherwise pull cost from your accounting system and add it before uploading.
- Sales history — the product export has no sales data, only current catalog state. Pull a sales-by-product report (Shopify Analytics → Reports) for the trailing 12 months, then join it to your product export by SKU (e.g. a VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP in a spreadsheet) before uploading. Tropix needs
total_sales_12mor monthly sales columns in the same row as the SKU. - Category, location — not in the standard product export; add manually if you track them elsewhere.
Next: Uploading data for the full column reference and auto-clean details.
